This past weekend Matt and I celebrated a one year anniversary (dating of course), which was really very nice. I'm shocked we made it this far and yet at the same time not surprised. With him, I'm generally pretty laid back and easy going, and it's probably because HE is. I'm gained some emotional control and generally calmed down about the little things, and have done better about not reading between lines when there's nothing to infer. So far so good. We had a nice Mediterranean dinner (mmmm lamb kabobs) and just had a good time being with each other.

This game has sucked me in. I am loving it. I played multiplayer today with Matt and got my bearings, now I'm working through the campaign. I'm not terribly good at it yet, but am holding my own mostly. I'd love it if I wouldn't have to break the dogs' necks so often.

I DLd the Mortal Kombat pack, just the trial so far... I LOVE MK2 on SNES and still have it (and what's more, it's operational still). Not sure I really want to buy it for xbox but we'll see how the trial goes.

The Baconing continues to be greatness.

It's been fast paced but school is off and rolling smoothly enough, and it seems to be a really strong start. I'm up almost 20 kids more in my enrollment this year so that's both awesome and challenging. I'll take it.

I bought DeathSpank: The Baconing. It seemed like a worthy game, based on my previous experiences with DS and with the trial, and so far it's aces. :)

And thus ended my summer-long ability to giggle at the chumps who went off to work every Monday morning whilst I lounged about until noon, playing xbox until an obscene hour of the night. It's back to school for me tomorrow. I've been hard at work this past week at teacher training, meetings, luncheons, etc, and finally go tmy room ready. I convinced my wonderfully handsome, tall and strong boyfriend to come to school with me Saturday morning and hang pictures for me. I hadn't hung up the pics from the last three years so I figured it was about time to do it.

... and wound up with three. :) I have gotten the itch to ink again (every summer/fall-ish) so I drew up a few ideas. First, I did f-holes on the back on my neck (f-holes are the F and S shaped holes on the top of a violin/viol/cello. I wanted them on my lower back but decided I'm too fat for that and it was too expensive, so they wound up on the back of my neck, and I like it. #2 was a keyboard, heart, treble clef and bass clef design I drew up. With some tweaking by the tattoo artist, it wound up on my left lower shoulder blade.

I am going to the Dallas WebComics Expo today (at Southfork Ranch in Plano, for anyone in the area)... one of my favorite webcomic strip writing team is going to be there- Cyanide & Happiness. I am so excited!! Now if only The Oatmeal was going to be there. So.... I'm trying to think up some good ideas so they can draw me a strip- they have done this at previous conventions and then ask the people who got a strip frawn to post it on the C & H facebook page so everyone can see them. Any good ideas, send them my way (if you're reading this before 3PM CST on Aug 6).
